As you might have seen, the historic archives and ancient book collections of the Canonesses was transferred to Durham University in 2018. There a tri-party project has commenced, with an archivist and rare-books cataloguer caring for the archives and books, and a historian working on the project’s research element. The historian, Dr Cormac Begadon, has just launched a Twitter page called Canonesses’ Collections. The page will give weekly insights into his research, drawing attention to lesser-known aspects of these historically important collections. There’ll be insights into the life of the Community whilst at Liège and then at New Hall. Plus you can hear all about what the sisters were reading, with news from their library.
