Our call finds its roots in the Gospel, the women at the tomb.
We are a community of women answering the call of the Spirit for the world of today, and our vowed life in Community is inspired by the apostolic life of the early Church.
The whole group of believers was united in heart and soul…everything they owned was in common, and each one received whatever he or she needed.
(Acts 2 and 4)
We are Canonesses, so our life is lived in Community, we pray together as part of the people of God and work in the service of each other and of the people around us.
As Canonesses of the Holy Sepulchre we trace our origins back to Jerusalem, and we follow the inspiration of the women at the tomb who were entrusted with proclaiming the Easter message of hope – Christ Is Risen!
Our spirituality is thus rooted in the life, suffering, death and Resurrection of Jesus Christ – an experience common to all people in their own lives, the journeying from darkness to light, from despair to hope, from death to life.
