Do You Hear What I Hear? LISTENING TO CREATION

In our last of our series DO YOU HEAR WHAT I HEAR? Listening to others; to ourselves; to God; to creation, we travel to Italy by Zoom and are delighted to welcome Paolo Foglizzo – an expert on Laudato si’ and integral ecology who will talk to us on the subject of ‘listening to creation’.  Paolo is based at the Jesuit social centre in Milan and edits their journal on social issues.

Paolo Foglizzo

Editor of Aggiornamenti Sociali – Fondazione Culturale San Fedele – Milan

Born in Turin in 1964, he graduated in Economics from the local University and later obtained a Master’s Degree in Catholic Social Teaching and Ethics from the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome. He worked in the field of development cooperation with a local NGO in Turin and then for three years at the Social Justice Secretariat of the General Curia of the Society of Jesus in Rome.

Since 2001 he has been a member of the editorial staff of the monthly journal Aggiornamenti Sociali <www.aggiornamentisociali.it>, run by Italian Jesuits, where he deals in particular with economic issues and Catholic Social Teaching. His main interests are the relationship between ethics, anthropology and economics, and the commitment to the promotion of justice. From 2007 to 2019, he was also CFO of ProgettoPersona SCS (formerly A Piccoli Passi SCS), a non-profit organization providing services to people with disabilities and the elderly, and their families, in Milan.

In October 2018 he served as an expert (adiutor) in the XV Ordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops, dedicated to the theme “Young people, the faith, and vocational discernment.”

• in 2007, together with Carlo Casalone SJ, he edited the volume Volare alla giustizia senza schermi. Un percorso interdisciplinare oltre l’equità (with a foreword by C. M. Martini, Vita e pensiero, Milan);
