Understanding faith-based communities through their stories
Prof John McCafferty
on Sunday 14 November 2.30 – 4pm
BY ZOOM
We are very much looking forward to welcoming John McCafferty, who is Professor of History at University College, Dublin. John will help us gain an understanding of why and how different faith-based communities grow, develop, sustain themselves, change, adapt or dissolve. We hope to explore with him the relationship between faith-based communities and the individual and look at new and emerging stories: faith-based communities during and post-pandemic.
There will be time for discussion and questions and we will end with a short reflective prayer.
Please register above and you will be sent the Zoom link in advance

John McCafferty is a professor of History at University College Dublin and, since 2017, Chair of the Irish Manuscripts Commission.
His published research focuses on church history and history of belief in Ireland and Britain from 1500-1700. He is also Director of the Mícheál Ó Cléirigh Institute at UCD, a unique partnership between the university and the Franciscan Order (OFM) in Ireland.
As Praeses of the Board of Regents of the Collegium Sancti Bonaventurae based in St Isidore’s College Rome he works with the friars and an international group of lay scholars to disseminate the intellectual heritage of the Minorites. For many years he has been in dialogue with religious communities about their archival patrimony.
He tries to think about death and the life of the world to come every day.
