We put ourselves in the presence of God as we listen to some music.

(Awakening in Love. Tr 2.  All nations)

Leader: Loving God, together & with you, we seek the Way –

All:        May our vision become clearer through our prayer together.

Leader:  Loving God, together & with you, we seek Truth –

All:        Shed your light on that truth that we may come closer to it.

Leader:  Loving God, together & with you, we seek to share your Life –

All:        Help us to make the choices that lead us & others to that Life –

              Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning,

              is now and ever shall be, world without end, Amen.

Please join in with the hymn:

He is Lord, he is Lord, he is risen from the dead & he is Lord.

Every knee shall bow, every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.

He is King, he is King, he is risen from the dead & he is King.

Every knee shall bow, every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is King.

He is Love, he is Love, he is risen from the dead & he is Love.

Every knee shall bow, every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Love.

Please say this psalm from side to side as indicated.

All:        The Lord is my love and my refuge; in him I place my trust.

Side 1:   Blessed be the Lord my rock who trains my arms for battle, who prepares my hands for war.

Side 2:   He is my love, my fortress; he is my stronghold, my saviour, my shield, my place of refuge. He brings people under my rule.

Side 1:    Lord, what are human beings that you care for them, mere mortals that you keep them in mind; they are like a breath whose lives fade like shadows?

Side 2:   Lower your heavens and come down; touch the mountains; wreath them in smoke, flash your lightnings; rout the foe shoot your arrows and put them to flight.

Side 1:   Reach down from heaven and save me; draw me out from the mighty waters, from the hands of alien foes whose mouths are filled with lies, whose hands are raised in perjury.

All:         Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit as it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end, Amen.

All:         The Lord is my love and my refuge; in him I place my trust.

Please sing the 2nd part of the psalm as indicated.

Cantors:  Blessed the people

Whose God is the Lord.

Cantors:  To you, O God, will I sing a new song;

I will play on the ten-stringed harp

All:          To you who give kings their victory,

                 Who set David your servant free.

Cantors:   You set him free from the evil sword;

You rescued him from alien foes –

All:          Whose mouths were filled with lies,

                Whose hands were raised in perjury.

Cantors:   Let our sons then flourish like saplings

Grown tall and strong from their youth;

All:          Our daughters graceful as columns,

                Adorned as though for a palace.

Cantors:   Let our barns be filled to overflowing

With crops of every kind;

All:          Our sheep increasing by thousands

                Myriads of sheep in our fields, our cattle heavy with young,

Cantors:  No ruined wall, no exile,

No sound of weeping in our streets.

All:         Happy the people with such blessings;

               Happy the people whose God is the Lord.

All:         Glory be to the Father and to the Son

               And to the Holy Spirit,

               As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be,

              World without end, Amen.

All:         Blessed the people

              Whose God is the Lord.

Reading:  Jas 3: 17-18

The wisdom that comes down from above is essentially something pure; it makes for peace and is kindly and considerate;  it is full of compassion and shows itself by doing good.  There is no trace of partiality or hypocrisy in it.  Peacemakers when they work for peace sow the seeds which will bear fruit in holiness.

Pause for personal reflection.

Leader:    This woman became a teacher in the Church of God.

All:          This woman became a teacher in the Church of God.

Leader:    The Lord filled her with the spirit of wisdom and understanding.

All:          This woman became a teacher in the Church of God.

Leader:    Glory be to the Father, the Son and Holy Spirit

All:          This woman became a teacher in the Church of God.

Please stand to say the Magnificat.
