We live in a time marked by uncertainty, disruption, and change. For many, these challenges raise deep questions about faith, resilience, and the future.
Our new series of talks – Finding Hope in Uncertain Times – offers space to reflect on what Christian hope means today, and how it can shape the way we live. Hope – not as an abstraction, but as a lived and discerning response to the times.
The series will be launched by Dr Gemma Simmonds CJ on Friday 21 November. In her talk entitled “Hope: Living Differently”, Gemma will draw on Pope Benedict XVI’s insight that “the one who has hope lives differently.” She will explore how hope is not merely a concept, but a way of life rooted in the Gospel.
Over the coming months, we will hear from a range of speakers including Rev Dr Liam Hayes, Dr Clare Watkins, Dr Austen Ivereigh, and Fr David Neuhaus SJ. Each will bring their own perspective on how hope can be sustained and expressed in the face of confusion, injustice, and change -whether in the Church, the wider world, or our personal lives.
The talks will all be on Zoom and recorded, with a couple of them also ‘in person’. Information and booking details for each event will be shared on our website as they are confirmed.
